Indicator control key for MIC

Dear All ,

As we know the indicator control key controls the control indicators for MIC .

We are observing that every new MIC that we create comes with a default indicator control key "Qualitative insp. char., Summarized recording, Optional char., ScpNotFixed" Accordingly all the defaults for control indicators are chosen .

We are not choosing this indicator control key  anywhere nor are we setting this value any where in the config .

Do let us know where this default value comes from and how to change it for a given plant .

Ram

Hi,

Go to QCC4 -> Inspection Characteristic, Inspection Method -> Define Default Values for Control Indicators

Click on new entries, Enter Control key say z200, tick on Quanti. chara., Enter short text

Enter -> Maintain the required fields SAY- "Qualitative insp. char., Summarized recording, Optional char., ScpNotFixed"

Save your entry

After this setting, When you go for creation of MIC, in preset indicator enter z200, you will see the defaults under control indicator.

Hello Ram, Well, I also observed the same, but don't know what is the exact reason behind this. As I searched on SAP help, I found that the control keys in the standard system comprise a basic set with which most of the characteristic types in the QM module can be displayed.

So it could be a standard QM setting in QM component. I also noted that only those fields where only one option can be chosen at a time (with radio button) are marked with default selection. e.g. summarized or single recording. Default ticks do not come on sampling procedure, additive sample or lower, upper limits where check boxes are provided.

Better to use preset indicator to avoid accidental data entry errors. Use of LSMWs or BDCs can also help preventing this if daily data generation is on higher side.

Follow the path.

IMG - Quality Management - Quality Planning - Basic Data - Inspection Characteristic, Inspection method - Define default values for control indicators

Here, some default values can be defined. Those indicators can be referred in MIC creation in Preset Indicators field, which will make these control indicators as per configuration default values settings.

Dear Maheswaran ,

Thanks for your reply . We are aware you can set the default indicator key in the path shown by you .

We are not making any entries in the present indicator while creating an MIC even then the QS21 first screen shows the above indicator key ""Qualitative insp. char., Summarized recording, Optional char., ScpNotFixed"

That is the question . we do not know where it is coming from and how it can be changes .
