SAP 4.7 upgrade to ECC6 EHP6 on SAP DB

Hello,

I'm about to do an SAP Upgrade from 4.7 to ECC6 EHP6 on Windows 2008R2 with SAP DB. After a migration onto a new server the system is currently running on SAP DB 7.5. During the upgrade SUM comes up with an error message saying, that I have to Upgrade the DB in order to proceed the upgrade.

So I upgraded the DB to 7.9 but the SAP system did not come up with the error message "SAP DB 7.9" is not supported.

What DB version is supported to run 4.7 on Windows 2008R2 and is sufficient for the upgrade?

Thank you,

   julian

Hi Julian,

I have attached snapshot from SAP PAM. The details from the same are as below

1) R3 4.7 x 200 can run on Windows 2003 with MaxDB 7.8 version

2) Windows 2008 R2 for R3x47 is not supported

3) Incase you want to have SAP system on Windows 2008 R2 Maximum level you can upgrade you environment is ECC 6.0 EHP5 on Windows 2008 R2 / MAxDB 7.8

I could not find any support for ECC 6.0 EHP6 on MaxDB 7.8.

Find attached PAM details for R3 47, ECC 6.0 EHP5 and ECC 6.0 EHP6 for your reference.

Hi Julian,

Additionally refer Note 1480765 - MaxDB: system copy of SAP systems to Windows 2008 (R2)

This note describes procedures to migrate systems from Windows 2003 to Windows 2008/Windows 2008 R2 in order to prepare an upgrade to an SAP release that is based on SAP NetWeaver 7.3 or higher and is supporting Windows 2008/Windows 2008 R2.

After the copy procedure, the SAP system runs temporarily with this configuration, only for the purpose of preparing for and running the SAP upgrade!

Hope this is also useful.

Deepak Kori

Thanks all for your help.

I solved the issue by a restoreand a DB upgrade to 7.8. After the SAP upgrade I will update the DB to 7.9.
