Hai pals,
i have to suggest my basis team what r the profiles or the roles (reporting)
to be assigned to the users.
i dont have a clue where to start.
my requirement is that the users will only have to execute the reports assigned to their roles and view the results.
(i am going to create n no roles and i am thinking of assigning the reports to the roles)
is there any profiles given by SAP for this ?
Pls dont refer to help.sap.com i gove through with no success.
Pls give me steps for the above requirement.
thanks in advance and will be rewarded properly.
cheers........

Ravindra,
For reporting, you need to know if a user is a power user (create/change queries) or only a report executor. Control this using S_RS_COMP and S_RS_COMP1 auth objects.
Create two types of roles. One role that has the report menu and access to the objects S_RS_COMP and S_RS_COMP1 along with access to data in the cube - S_RS_CUBE.
Create a second role that restricts the access to the reporting auth objects that you would have created in RSSM like company code, etc.
To each user assign one of each role at least to give auths. More than one can be assigned in case of overlap also.
If you have groups of users for maintenance then you can potentially look at splitting the first role also into two - one that the menu and the other with the standard auth objects.
Cheers
Aneesh
