Error in BIND_SUPPORT_PACKAGES Phase NW 7.31 Upgrade

Hello there SAPMasters.

I am currently running into this error in SUM when attempting to upgrade from NW 7.0 to NW 7.31.

I am currently using SUM ver 1.0 SP6

Stack XML file was generated on a SOLMAN 7.1 SP

CIM and CR CONTENT has been updated to latest levels.

The JAVA only portal system that is the target for upgrade has the kernel patched to 402. Windows x64 Unicode.

During MOPZ, I selected OS/kernel for ver 300 and ver 402. If 300 ver is not selected, kernel files are not added to XML. If I omitt kernel selections in MOPZ step, then SUM complains that a kernel is missing.

I am using kernel dvd 51044253_4.

An error has occurred during the execution of the BIND_SUPPORT_PACKAGES phase.

Error while applying support package stacks. See stack trace for details. Could not scan the Inbox directory. Could not create kernel patch. Required archives SAPEXE.SAR are missing from kernel archive set with version WINDOWS_X86_64__UNICODE__EXT__720_300_0. Missing archives either do not exist or do not match this system. Valid detected archives are F:\Software\UPGRADESW\SAPEXEDB_300-20006746.SAR

Use the information provided to troubleshoot the problem. An SAP Note may provide a solution to this problem. Search for SAP Notes with the following key words: Error while applying support package stacks. See stack trace for details. Any ideas as to why there is a problem with the kernel set here? SAPEXE.SAR does exist. Do I need to update the kernel dvd disk?
