Hi,
Can any one suggest how to integrate ESS/MSS with external portal? Requirement is client is using non SAP enterprise portal and they want to access ESS/MSS application from their portal. For example employee will excess IT0006 from non SAP enterprise portal by clicking the link, so from the SAP we have to provide the link to access the IT0006. We are using EHP5 WD, this should be done via SSO from enterprise portal.

which Non Enterprise portal customer is using?
MS SharePoint is usually used to call SAP iviews if you don't use EP, many customers are using it.
this is another way of accessing application other one is of course given above NWBC

Hi Siddharth,
Thanks for your reply.
Our requirement is client want some specific ESS application link in third part portal (Liferay). For example they want to access only IT0006, subtype -0004 and team calander. And these application should be accesseble from third party portal as a link. They do not want to see the ESS standard menu. This means there will be two link in third party portal one for emergency address and other for team calender, once user will click on the above link the seperate window will open in browser with single sign on and it will dispay/edit the required application.

Hello,
I think this blog will help you:
In summary you should embed the application URL in your portal with NWBC as wrapper...
Hope it helps..
Hi Nirmod,
What about other infortypes and ESS application.
Is ur client going to use only IT0006, subtype -0004 and team calander? is he not going to use any other ESS applications.
Lets talk about IT0006,from portal are you only providing access to subtype 0004, in the use case table ur not configuring any other subtypes for IT0006. I believe if ur using subtype 0004, u might be also using the Permanent address etc. Please let us know. It would make lot of difference if ur configiring other subtypes for address.
If subtype 0004 is only configured then u can take the WDA link of address and do SSO with ur portal.
But in case if you configure multiple subtypes of address and from ur external facing portal if you only want to give access to subtype 0004, then it wont work as the Address app will show all the subtypes. I think you might have to create a custom app in this scenariyo.

Hi,
From EhP5, the WDA ESS and MSS services can be run on a NWBC which comes along. You do not need only SAP Portal to access these WDA self-services. You can use the NWBC for HTML version and integrate the ESS and MSS roles to this. Later you can provide the URLs for the ESS and MSS roles of the NWBC in any other third party portals like SharePoint or WebSphere. It would be like creating a href to the some page. it's that easy.

Hi Balajii, Thanks for your reply and valuable input. This sounds good. However our requirement is client want some specific ESS application link in enterprise portal. Hi If your using Web Dypro only for both ESS and MSS Deploying the SAP NetWeaver business client might be a solution.
http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-8193
thus you provide a link from the clients non-sap portal to the SAP Business Client, rather than every Dynpro application
Problem solved.
