Hello,
we're using central search on SAP CRM 7.0 EhP 1 and when our users want to use it with first entry "All objects" nothing happens? With my user (has SAP_ALL) it works. Also our users don't see the option "Free text" in the different sub menus (like "Accounts", "Opportunitys"....)?
Do we have to assign a certain authority object to our users or do we need to do some additional customizing?

Finally I decided to create an oss message and after a few days I got the solution. You have to assign the authority object UIU_COMP with the following values:
COMP_NAME (Component Name): CRM_ES_UI_APPL
COMP_WIN (Component Window Name): MainWindow
COMP_PLUG (Inbound Plug): ES_SEARCH
Perhaps this information is useful for other people also.

one way is do the authorization trace ST01 and try to find out the failed auth objects.
