Issue with prevent hiring of Separated Employee

Hi Guru's,

Need to prevent hiring ex-employee (Separated) from joining again in the organization. By way of error message or intimation at the time of hiring action.

Validate may be based on: Employee Name, employee Date of Birth & PAN No. of employee 

Please provide your suggests to control this (other than User Exit).

hope ur doing great.

how about New Joiners Report before PA40 is ran.

Once Employee is separated , try generating a Unique Num (for your ref ) , so on Hiring Day, try running the New Joiner report , if it picks the unique num , that applicant is rejected before running the PA40 to hire.

This is after separation and before the hiring process I am looking at ,hope it sounds well for you.

Based on our input, we can put the validation but as you mentioned "employee name" and "date of birth" will not be effficient.

We can validate based on what ever unique no. if your PAN number is unique then you can validate but once concern is there. this validation will be happen when your entering PAN number so at that point personnel number would be created for your new employee. so no point putting validation after created the SAP Number. we have to block it befor that. i hope which is not possible.

Thanks for your valuable suggestion.

I agree with your point , but we need to have some warning/intimation when hiring action 0000 executed to identify that this employee was hired previously by some identification (best is PAN no., DOB combination).

Actually, I dont wanna use User Exit for this...

Hi.

Imagin that when we are doing hiring action , the first infotype will be IT0000-Action infotype. so in this action infotype we will give only action reason, position, personnel area and employee group and employee sub group. once we give all these input parameter and saved the personnel number will be created. so how system will validate the DOB (which will be maintaoned in IT0002 in later) and PAN. thats what i said which is not possible.so we have to validate when we are entering Action infotype itself.

Hi

You don't mention what country you want to implement the leaver validation for, but if you have a global system (or if your company may expand in the future to include subsidiaries in other countries), I would recommend making sure you will not be contravening any discrimination or data protection legislation by building such a check into your system ....

Also, from a business process perspective, would you be preventing all/any employees who have ever worked for your organization from being re-hired? In my experience, you may need to be careful not to make any coding too inflexible as there always tend to be exceptions to any rules!!

I know this doesn't answer your question, but you may find you also need to take these points into account when designing your process and building in the validation.
