Hi all,

I have a immediate requirement from user to team.

Where i am dealing with customer account we collected payment on last year, now customer is adamant (he is not accepting as he paid this amount).

So requirement is now i have to transfer this payment to clarification account.(mandatory)

Or suspense account (alternate option not mandatory)

Can anyone please suggest how can i post this two activities.

But user requirement level is only at clarification account level, this payment is not came by clarification process.

Thanks,

Honey

Hi,

Going thru ur post, I guess, the payment item is currently sitting in the customer account and is cleared (probably).

And you want to move it to a Clarification\Suspense account and not to payment clarification worklist (CWL). Isn't it?

I guess, you already have a clarification\Suspense account created in your System. If not, you can create one as per your business requirements.

Now, first you have to reset clear the payment item, to make it as an open item sitting as payment on account.

Now you can use transaction FP08 to reverse the payment document. During the reversal process, you will get three options as follows-

(a) Cancel payment document

(b) Transfer the pyament document to Payment CWL

(c) No action

Choose the second option and you will find the payment document being routed to Payment CWL.

Now go to Payment CWL and select the payment item and re-allocate it back to the desired Clarification\Suspense Account.

Please be adviced, that once you route the payment item to CWL and subsequently to suspense account, the debit item that it has cleared (if any) originally, will become open and can be subjected to dunning.

Hope my understanding is correct and it helps.....

Thanks,

Amlan

Thanks Amlan for immediate reply,

I tried same what u suggested but i am not able getting that 3 options for making into clarification posting.

If this is the case how do i get that options in my system what are the dependency configurations to get those options.

And also please suggest how I overcome this solution

Thanks,

Honey

Amlan's suggestion only works if the payment is an actual payment document in SAP.  The options presented will depend on the source of the original posting.

Hi Honey,

Fully agree with Bill.

First check the source of the original payment posting. The best way to do that is to check the origin key of the payment document, which you will find in the document header.

If the origin key of the payment document is 05 or 25 or 45, then the steps in my previous post holds good.

If the origin key of the payment document is different from the above, first reset clear the payment document and then use transactions FP40 to transfer the payment document to the Suspense Account.

Thanks,

Amlan
