TREX 6.1 for EP and SRM together

Hello,

One TREX 6.1 for EP and SRM together ???

We have two current projects for a customer. A SAP Enterprise Portal and a SAP SRM Project. For both Project we need a SAP TREX Server 6.1.

- Could we use one TREX 6.1 Server for both Projects? - That means one TREX Server for EP and SRM Landscape.

- Furthermore the question for us arises, whether we can use also one TREX 6.1 Server for several instances. -> (3 System Landscape -> for example:

- EP Development System

- EP Consolidation System

- EP Production System

Thanks in Advance,

Ralf

Doing the exact same thing at a current client. We're just completing the installation of the first systems so I'll be able to tell you for sure if it works sometime next week.

From what I've researched, as long as the indices have different names, the two clients should be ok to work together with the same TREX.

I might question linking two EPs or two SRMs to the same TREX for fear of index name overlap... but in our case, we have 1 TREX for each landscape position... so we're thinking that it shouldn't be a problem.

    Hi Ralf,

generally, as stated by all, no problem.

    But in that case:

    One TREX for...

    - EP Development System

    - EP Consolidation System

    - EP Production System

Watch out for index naming conflicts!!

Do test the behavior when indexes are created with same names from different portals with uncritical test indexes!

    Regards,

    Karsten
