While saving an email attachment it is getting truncated at '.' (dot)

Hi Experts,

I need your help here.

When I am saving an email the name of attachments in the email are getting truncated where there is a dot present in the attachment name.

For example is the attachment name is abcd.xyz then after saving it in local drive attachment name will become abcd

I think may be some sap note will be required here.

Thanks for your reply.

Out of these notes, note no. 1591060 can be implemented in my system.

This note states that

File name of attachments are truncated during replication of activities between CRM and outlook. This occurs when the file name of attachment is greater than 64 characters.

In my case problem is coming when the attachment filename is having a dot in between, and the filename is getting truncated after that dot.

I am trying to see whether the note 1591060 can solve my problem.

Refer to the SAP Note 1556794. Apply this to resolve the problem.
