Hi,

I'm not sure what you mean with "interactive AIV."

You can analyze the runtime of a transaction, a program or a function module in the transaction SE30.

In the ST03N you can see a rankinglist of the top dialogsteps in your system.

I'm not exactly sure what the question is here. R/3 stands for "real-time" 3 tiered. Meaning that it is a real time system. All reports use real-time data.

What don't you get about "intereactive ALV"?

If I am not wrong, you are asking which types of reports(classic, interactive, alv etc) are more commonly used and making an alv interactive.

Reports are designed as per the user requirements. If you are just accesing a couple of tables and writing out an output to the screen, then you don't need the fancy interactive or alv for that. You can just go with classic reporting. Interactive reporting used to be a tool for writing reports and allowing the users to further do some processing( like display a document on the list or edit the value of a displayed field etc). But the process used to be very tedious. Ever since ALV, came into picture, it almost made the interactive reporting redundant. ALV by default has some interactive nature to it, in the fact that users can do some sorting, summing(if allowed by the code) etc. If you want more functionality like displaying a document from the list(hotspots), make some fields editable etc, you can do that too.

Yes ALV is very popular and flexible and powerful. But there are still reasons why you might just want to write a classic report.

Hope this is what you are looking for.
