File upload in Integrated Planning

Dear Experts,

we have an requirement to upload an excell file by the user itself through the WAD in IP.

I got an document "How to load a file into BI-IP",where it only through an link by the webdynpro,but we want to include this link in WAD.i think we can include the link in WAD once created.

but i had few confusions in the document regarding the files K900516.BIR and R900516.BIR i,w where it was mentioned "Unzip the files and copy them into the transport directory of your BI system (K9*.BIR into COFILES directory, R9*.BIR into DATA directory)."  how to do this exactly bcz without this the required class,function type and webdynpro service will not be enable right...

please help me out how to start the requirement exactly,its very important for us right now..

Hi Sunil,

This is part of Administrative work. So please check with your BASIS team. They can place the files in respective directory and capture the same in transport request which will be moved to Production system.

thanks for the reply.

Now we have implemented everything and also able to upload the file to the Infocube.

But the problem is when i load the file for the second time,the previously loaded records are getting after image(keyfigures with negative sign) on over all the value for keyfigures becoming zero,even though i am not adding the old records in file,somewhere they are being stored inmemory.How this is being happened..any idea to resolve the same....

Hi Sunil,

You have to correct the parameter OVERWRITE DATA for this in order to upload in addition mode.

NOTE: Default value will be X which will denote YES, OVERWRITE DATA.

sorry for late reply.

You are correct,i have set the option to Delta(D) in planning function,now the records are added correctly.

i need help,where i need to derive Calyear from Calquarter,where i dont have the calyear in the file,i had only calquarter i,e for example i had 20121 in file then i need to get 2012 to calyear.

i tried changing the method Execution in the Class,but the field symbol <l_s_data> is not accepting the same,i thought structure of the cube will generated at runtime.

Could you please let me know where i can do the same in the class.

Hi Gopi,

i have got the solution where the time characteristics will be derived automatically,where the same should not be part of the Aggregation Level.i have added the calyear and quarter in the cube and after uploading the file they are getting populated automatically.

but i need to know whether we can enhance the method Execute in the class ZCL_RSPLF_FILE_UPLOAD,if i required in future for some other characteristics.

Hi Sunil,

You don't need to enhance the class ZCL_RSPLF_FILE_UPLOAD. For characteristics Relationship you can derive your own class from the class 'CL_RSPLS_CR_EXIT_BASE'.
