Hi,

Have a look at this note

1791636 - mail sending issue via SMTP required SSL
Version 1 Validity: 22.11.2012 - active
Language English

Content:    Summary   |   Header Data   |   Validity

Symptom

The SBO Mailer service cannot connect to some SMTP services using SSL security enhancement, even if the TLS checkbox is selected in SBO Mailer.

Reproducing the issue

In the SBO Mailer service configure the following SMTP server address: smtp.gmail.com via port 465.

Cause

FVC (Future Version Candidate)

Solution

Workarounds:

1.)    Use a different SMTP server, where the SSL security is not required/

2.)    Configure an SMTP relay between the SBO Mailer and SMTP server, which will distribute the email to the SMTP server. For that purpose you can use a product like hMailServer

More details about the workaround 2 can be found on http://youtu.be/xVkcz_l99ac

Correction of system behavior is not feasible in the currently supported versions of SAP Business One. The error has been recorded and is a candidate to be fixed in a future version.

Other terms

SBO Mailer, smtp.gmail.com, hMailServer, smtp service, send email

Thank you Son Tran Van,

I have tried to set up hmailserver but there are two issues that I am having.

1) It will not accept any emails with attachments which defeats the whole purpose.

2) While all of the settings seem correct it is still not sending the actual message:

-------

I think that the issue is that in our Gmail the Alias Send From address has to be registered, however it shows as coming from my address which is registered and is still not working.

Does anyone else have any other trouble shooting ideas?

Thanks.

Something I did notice when I tested this out (Which we also use Gmail) is that when sending mail to say Gmail or Hotmail accounts as a recipient for example.  It shows as the emails being sent as successful through Hmailer/SBO Mailer but there is nothing shown in my Gmail inbox.

Though if I send to my Office365 Email account I receive the emails from the SBO mailer just fine.  I'm wondering if it has to do something with hmailer and sending to gmail/hotmail accounts being black listed for some reason.

Hello,

I am trying to configure SBO Mailer. Tried all possible ways. These are the msgs I got

SMTP Client as "Microsoft .Net" and got SMTP .Net Client is not properly installed

Then tried SMTP Client as See4C "No Authentication", connection was successful but

the mail was not sent.

and then tried SMTP Client as See4C "Login Authentication", connection failed even though the Username and Password were right.

Can someone help me solve this issue please.

Thanks

2.Go to Database in SBO Mailer and set your database.

Then try to send Email......

Hi,

Thanks Nagarajan and Dev. I got the solution for SMTP .Net Client.

Step:

  1. Open the SAP Business One service manager.
  2. Select the SBO Mailer service.
  3. Choose the Settings button.
  4. Define the SMTP server and port (e.g. SMTP server and 587).
  5. Define the user name and password.
  6. Define the SMTP client as Microsoft .NET.
  7. Define the authentication as Basic Authentication.
  8. Select Use TLS Encryption.
  9. Choose OK.

"SMTP .NET Client is not properly installed. Do you want to continue without the SMTP .NET Client?" - Select Yes

Then next step we have to register B1_MessagingDotNet.dll to .Net framework.

To register B1_MessagingDotNet.dll, enter the below command in a command prompt

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\regasm "C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP\SAP Business One ServerTools\Mailer\B1_MessagingDotNet.dll" /codebase

Note: v4.0.30319 is the version of .Net Framework, select latest version of .Net.

Same Issue here.

Using SAP B1 9.0 PL04 with Gmail credentials, tried both Microsoft and See4C.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

I changed the SMTP Client to See4C and everything works perfect now.

Fedias,

I used every setting in the B1 Mailer and am not able to send out an email from SAP.  We are using gmail.

Try the following:

smtp server: smtp.gmail.com

smtp port: 587

username: Your gmail username

password: your gmail password

smtp client: See4C

Hi Hong,

I have replied based on problem stated on that note.

"When you try to send a mail by Business One to a user with Chinese name, you

find the mail is not sent if SBO mailer use Microsoft .Net as SMTP Client."

Hi,

From your screenshot, the Test Connection option is disabled. Have you tested your email account (.NET Client) on live.com?

Thanks,

Gordon

Hi!

I have the same problem..

The button Test Connection has disable, If I chose SMTP Client= Microsoft.NET -->  can't click Test connection. If I chose SMTP Client = see4c --> can click Test connection

One time I already setup the same way  on Version 882, It's ok and SAP doesn't ask like this

I don't know what I have to do with... "SMTP .NET Client is not properly installed.  Do you want to continue without the SMTP .NET Client?"
