Create an email notification in EP using NWDS

Hi All,

I would like to generate an email to a user's email address when a button on a form in my JSPDynPage component is clicked.

Is there any documentation that would describe the process which includes all releavant APIs as well.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Divya Rao

That's wrong. You must be able to reach the SMTP server on it's port via telnet. Technically it nothing else a client does. It's more or less some special ASCII command/reply protocol over TCP/IP. Telnet is nothing else, only that SMTP has it's own command set.

For examples how to send mail manually using telnet, see http://www.yuki-onna.co.uk/email/smtp.html or http://www.amset.info/exchange/telnet-test.asp

On the other hand, the server does not necessarily answer on a ping. Almost every standard firewall has the ability to set no answer on pinging. But if SMTP port (25) is open, it must react on SMTP / telnet.

      Hope it helps
