Any DB or Hana DB - Fiori Apps

Dear Friends,

I have a question on fiori apps (transactional) where the fiori library gives information that apps can be used for hana db, however my question is "Can we implement the apps even if we do not have a Hana DB?" (i.e.) i would like to implement in ECC 6.0 system. If yes then is the issue only related to performance or is there any other draw back here?

Yes, you can use other DB in Fiori app, except for Factsheet application.

As per my understanding, there is no performance issue with ECC. You can choose ECC as your DB for Transactional or custom application

If the app documentation says that it 'requires HANA DB', it means that you cannot install in scenarios using non HANA DBs. It will not work.

Hi Krishna,

Thank you for your reply. I was looking for "Look up Retail Products" app and the information in below link says database as "Hana DB" however i was told there were customers who implemented this app without hana DB however there were performance issues. To solve this either we have to use Hana or use TREX.

Hence i had this question.
