having issues with searching the T179T table using SE16N.

When I search on the Description using a wildcard (*) and a partial string of the alpha string of characters, I do not get results. See this screenshot for an example:

However, when I broaden my search by excluding the alpha string, it works.  Here is how that search looked:

Hi Ranjith

Try giving it like this - 189x01*LIGHT*  If this works it means the space given between 01 and LIGHT is not calculated correctly or cannot be considered.

Strange issue! Did you find what was that?

I tried with same data and it worked for me.

I HOPE SO THE WILD CARD CHARACTER WILL NOT ACCEPT THE EMPTY SPACE VALUES.

BUT I AM SURPRISED TO SEE HOW IT WORKED IN CASE OF YOU SAHOO

This is a rare scenario!! I tried all possible wildcard(*) and Space combinations!!  Working fine for me.

Have a check on MAKT table in test system.

Hi Ranjith,

This can be CASE issue have you checked the if the description of all the prod. hierarchies are in the same case i.e. Upper or Lower case.

Thanks,

Hi,

A N is right. Even I have tried the same. If any string is there with space I always try to find with the last word.

In your case you can also try with *LIGHT*.
