Hello,
i have here a cloned Testsystem. The Problem now is that i have to change the Servername and also the SID from this cloned System.
I know that the SAP only supports a Systemcopy to Change the Servername and SID. But as i told you. This is only for testing. So it is no Problem for us to change the SID and Servername without SAP Support for this System.
The only Thing is.. I `ve done it always with Systemcopy. So i Need a Little help from you guys.
So what steps do i have to do to Change the servername and the SID for this System?
Oh yes.. i forgot. It is Linux with Oracle 11.2
Kind Regards
Hi,
You need not to carry out system copy to change SID of the system. You can use System Rename tool which is available as part of SL Tool Set. Please refer to SAP note 1619720 or below blog:
http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-32851
You can download the same from https://service.sap.com/sltoolset.
Thanks
Sunny

Thanks,
i already found this Tool. Looks great. But one question.
My Oracle Filesystems also /usr/sap/DIS and so are mountpoints.
In the guide is written that i have to stop the System.. unmount the Points and remount them with the new SID in it. Thats OK.
But do i have to start the SAP System after this procedure again? Or do i have to start the System rename with a stopped instance?
I ask because i think when i rename the whole mountpoints and start then the System.. Errors will occur?
Hi,
As per your query you can not change SID because SAP work wiht SID like user name in SAP, user name in Oracle every where linked with SID.
I hope you query is clear.
