Product(Material) Master Creation in GTS10.0

Hello Experts: Is there a way to Create Product (material) master in SAP GTS10 independently without ECC?

I understand that there was some feasibility with GTS3.0. Link mentioned below for reference.

Hi Abir,

Yes, simply use the "Create Product" function in the Customs Management "Master Data" area.  You must use a Logical System Group that is not assigned to a feeder system.

Note that such Products are of quite limited use in the system.  What are you trying to achieve?

Thanks Dave. I am trying to understand if SAP GTS10 can work as a stand alone system for compliance solution.

A enterprise which uses 70%-80% through non-sap systems, wants to understand if SAP GTS can work for them for Compliance solutions which they need. And they dont want to connect their legacy systems with GTS.

So i was just looking at the compliance area and missed out to check on the Customs area. Thanks for your kind help.

You have mentioned that such products are of quite limited use in the system, may i request you to elaborate a bit more into it for my learning.

Hi Abir,

Well, I was thinking from the point-of-view of Customs functionality.  The main thing you can do is to classify the Product, but you might as well just enter the classification directly in the Customs Declaration without using the Product.

In the Compliance area, I'm not so sure - I never thought about using it in a "stand-alone" mode.
