We have recently migrated our solution to .net 2.0 and crystal reports 2008 on Windows7. Our is a winforms application developed in vb.net and we extensively use crystal reports in the application. When trying to view the a report it displays extrace between period . For example it displays as "book ." If i save the report as pdf I dont see this issue . I have tried adding the app.config file following one of the posts but not successful can some one please help me out on this ?
Thanks in Advance,

Hi Saurabh,
The earlier version of CR is 10 and patch level is 10.0.9500.23 not sure if it is correct am new to this patching. Patch level of CR 2008 is 12.3.1100.601. The data cannot be view in CR designer as they are database fields we are using some functions to display data only if some conditions are true. The Target platform is set to x86 so this option is ruled out.
Thanks in Advance,
Prathima
Try downloading SP5 from here. Try to export the report as crystal report and then open the same in designer and check if you see the same issue,

The answer is; no it can not be done. The days of just copying dlls here and there are long gone. You must redeploy the runtime. The links to the runtime files are now here:
MSI
ClickOnce
MSM ftp container is being created now - I'll update this thread once it is complete.

Hi Ludek,
Please ignore the above message. When I exported the report from my .net application and saved it as .rpt format i could not see the extra space before period and apostle but when i preview it from .net application i am able to see the extra space. This is what needs to be rectified.I am attaching you the saved rpt file for your reference.
Thanks,
Prathima
Interesting. I tried other fonts; Arial, Times New Roman, Calibri. The results:
Calibri works just fine.
Arial and Times New Roman also show the space - at 100% zoom. The interesting part is that at a 150% zoom, the space disappears. Ditto Franklin Gothic Book font. I suspect there is an issue between CR and GDI+ as regards the rendering, though I am somewhat hesitant as this is the 1st time I remember seeing this in a WIN app. Thus a small test I'd like yuo to do for me. See this wiki on troubleshooting issues with datasets. Please follow the steps outlined in the wiki and let me know the results.

Hello Prathima
I think we're looking at a but here that I will escalate for a fix next week. Just to set up expectations. If this is accepted by R&D for a fix, at best we'd get it in Service Pack 7 which is due out mid September. At this time, the only work-around I have is to use a different font. In my testing Calibri worked fine...
