Crystal Reports 2011 / IE 8/7 Print Dialog/Export not working

Using Crystal Reports 2011 and the CrystalReportsViewer control in ASP .NET

When using HTTPS in IE 8 and 7, the report shows correctly, but the pring dialog doesn't get displayed, and the export function fails. Its ok in IE 9.

This is caused by a problem in IE8 and 7 when a PDF is sent to the client because of the Cache-control header. There is a M/S KB article on the subject ( and suggests a registry change, but my customer doesn't want to do that. The registry change does fix the problem.

Where is the response header for this created? I can't seem to find any reference in the SDK.

    Hi Wesley,

    Slight correction needed here.

CR2011 doesn't come with SDKs, so need to know the exact version of CR you are using with your ASP.NET application. It would be difficult to find the reference to the header you are looking forward to change as  it is not documented moreover it's a browser's problem not CR so little can be done here I guess.

The other things that can be tried here are:

    1. Using compatibility mode for browsers again this option may not be available for all the version of IE.
    2. In the Application Pool used by the application go to Manged Pipeline Mode change it to use Classic if it's using Integrated.

    Hope it helps.
