Static parameters in BEx Analyzer

Hi,

I have not been able to find any kind of documentation regarding static parameters used in BEx Analyzer. Surely there must exist some kind of developers help on how to use differens static parameters when creating a workbook. I have previously worked a lot in Web Application Designer, but BEx Anlyzer is not as... intiutive as Web Application Designer when it comes to customizing buttons and drop-downs.

For example: I would like to build a button that when exekuted it hides one of my four key figures... this is possible in Web Application Designer, but is it in BEx Analyzer???

Thanks!

Hi Sofie,

There is very little information in saphelp with the link:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/en/45/9d0fbe42c40063e10000000a11466f/frameset.htm

For the example you can create a view for hiding the keyfigure, and then you can create the button, select the data-provider specific command and then you can assign query/view. There is also the filter command but I think it only works for characteristics.

Hope it helps.

Yasemin.

Thanks Yasemin,

my "twist" is that it is actually an input ready query used for planning.  Changing view in the middle of everything might mess things up... I don't know, but I was hoping for something similar to how it's made in Web Application Designer.

I can't believe the lack of "how to guides" and help-documents when it comes to BEX Analyzer. I even contacted SAP for some kind of course or class, but there is NONE targeting BEX Analyzer used for Planning purposes. All videos on youtube shows one or two fixed columns and/or rows, and of course there is no problems designing something that is not dynamic...

Please, if anyone ave userd BEX Analyzer for planning purposes, do you have any tips and tricks to share when it comes to formatting? Maybe you have an awsome workbook template to share? I'd be very grateful. I'm desperate since I'm running out of time...

Hey Sofie,

I solved a similar problem with static parameter in BEx Workbooks.

Here http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/en/ea/6c2c20ff994cf9a93bc1f1df8ca2fc/content.htm

it is said that "Any data provider-specific command in the Web Design API Reference from SAP BW 3.x (except functions to export to Microsoft Excel) is accepted."

Following the link to SAP 3.5 Web API Reference http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-11700 you can find the corresponding commands.

Regards,

Daniel
