Minimum installation requirements

Hi,

anyone tried installing this on a sub-optimal configuration? I've 512 Mb RAM; is it a definite "no-go" or will it still work? Also, does anyone have info on which database version is included?

Hi Trond,

I just installed this on my laptop with 'only' 512 Mb memory, it runs without problems and when all source is compiled even runs smooth. (only startup takes some minutes).

MaxDB is included.

if you plan to use the sapgui (the frontend) on the same box too, 512 MB will definitely be a no-go.

Most probably (thoug i didn't try myself) 512 MB will be to less. On my machine the default installation needs around 1.3 GB RAM.

Of course you can try it with virtual RAM, but a 1:1,5 ratio of physical ram to virtual one is more than suboptimal.

The DB is MaxDB 7.5 something I think.
