SAP GUI, and now planning to upgrade OS from XP to Windows 7, is it need to test?

Hi Gurus,

            Currently working on SAP GUI, and now planning to upgrade OS from XP to Windows 7, is it need to test, like few tcodes, functinal, regression etc. if yes/no pls tell why the same?

please help me.

Hello,

If you use Windows 7 please check your current SAP Gui version. It must be at least 730. Check also patches because a few transactions had some problems (queries).

Currently SAP Gui 730 with the latest patch is working fine on Windows 7 and doesn't need functional or regression tests.

                   So the need and level of testing depends on the version. or do we need to consider other factors too?

currently i am using OS XP and gui 720.

Usually testing activities (regression tests, functional tests and so on) are needed when you change something server side. For example after a release upgrade from R/3 to ECC6.

SAP Gui is client side so it can't break the system.

I suggest you to upgrade from 720 to 730. SAP Gui can be downloaded from SAP service web site free-of-charge.

SAP Gui 730 is MUCH better than 720 with Windows 7.

Hi,

just test some random transactions with different screen/graphical elements, for example:

- MB52

- MMBE

- SQ02

- SQVI

- SQ00

- SPRO

- SE11

- SE38

- SE37

- CM25/CM29

If you will meet problems most of the time are related to graphical components, not to functional elements.
