correct version of ESS/MSS BP for Portal 7.3 EHP1 and ECC6.0 EHP5

Hi Expert,

I am working in Portal 7.3 EHP1 and ECC6.0 EHP5.For ESS/MSS BP I am able to see two folder 

for EES  like

1. Folder--. Employee self serviceàsubfolderàERP2005 EHP2,ERP6.0EHP4,ERP2005 Ehp 3

And another folder.--> Employee self service Webdynpro ABAP

For MSS

ERP2005 EHP3

ERP6.0  EHP4

ERP 6.0  EHP5

I am not sure for Portal 7.3 EHP1 and ECC6.0 EHP5 for ESS/MSS BP in above which one we will use for ESS and which one we use for MSS.

Can someone clarify my doubt..?

Hi Kundan ,

If you want to use ESS in WD ABAP then you should use ESS for WD abap Else the other one for Webdynpro java , if you will be using webdynpro java then you need to set JCO Destinations .

For MSS package ERP 6.0  EHP5 can be used.

Hi Ashish,

I want to use ESS in WD ABAP .But once i am trying to preview the WD ABAP iView getting error like

Portal runtime error

An exception occurred while processing your request. Send the exception ID to your portal administrator.

Exception ID 11:47_12/03/13_0030_112124650

See log file for details about this exception

How to resolve this error.

Hi Ashish,

In MSS I can see ERP6 EHP5 which is our backend version. But in ESS I am not able to see ERP 6 EHP5 .So we need to install see ERP 6 EHP5 for ESS too in our portal server?

We are using WD ABAP for backend application but in Employee self-service ABAP WD folder we are unable to see the standard ess application like who’s who, personal detail, Family member dependences..

Can you explain how we can get the same ess application?

Hi Kundan ,

In MSS Package is 1.51 for EHP5 , if you want to use Webdynpro Abap then it need to be configured there is no content as such in ess IViews.
