How to update JSPM itself?

Former Member

Hi,

there are already many posts in SCN on this but unfortunately i cannot find the solution.

I would like to update the JSPM tool itself from 7.02.11 to 7.02.12.

1st Question - Where to see the current version JSPM tool ? Iam seeing under Menu - Help - About - Java Support Package Manager Version 7.02.11. Is this the right place? (because when i see under tab - Deployed Components - Netweaver - sap.com/AS - sap.com/JSPM shows as 7.02.12)

2nd Question - I have under EPS/in folder, the file JSPM12_0-10006505.SCA but the option JSPM in JSPM tool does not recognize the SCA file. What to do now?

Thanks in advance,

Mohan.

Hi Krishna,

There can be two main reasons for your issue.

1.Either your are not using your version JSPM comaptibile SCA file.

2.Your JSPM inbox is pointing to a different location.

For first reason, please make sure you have downloaded your System Compatible SCA file. For second reason, try to start the JSPM using the following steps.

You may start JSPM with different EPS/in directory than default. There are two methods

1. You may set the parameter DIR_EPS_ROOT in DEFAULT.PFL and point the same to the directory you want.

2. You may start the JSPM with parameter :

./go '-config=/JSPM/inbox=<Your location where your SCA files are located'

The JSPM session will start with the current parameter only. It will point to the path given in above parameter and will upload the patches from the same path.

Please download the following  files.

JSPM03P_1-10006505.SCA

JSPM02_0-10006505.SCA

Thanks and Regards,

Vimal

Hi Vimal,

both the reasons are not valid for me.

The Maintenance Optimizer in Solman system have given the SCA files automatically, i have also cross-checked manually, it is the right file. Why should i download JSPM02_0-10006505.SCA file? Could you please explain.

The JSPM Inbox is pointing to the right location. I can see all other SCA files in the JSPM tool.

Mohan.

Hi Sunny,

very strange.

Under the location mentioned by you, i can see JSPM version as 7.02.12 but when i see in JSPM tool under Menu - Help - About - shows Version as 7.02.11, why is it so?

And do you have any idea to my 2nd question?

Regards,

Mohan.

I feel either some dependency files are missing or there could be checksum error during the download.

Please try to download again and check.

Please as well as check the following link.

http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/TechTSG/(SLTG)(JSPM)JSPM+Does+Not+Display+Packages+from+Inbox+D...

Finally, please confirm what option did you select in the first phase of JSPM... Can you please attach the first selection page you selected too???

Hi Vimal,

as i could not see the JSPM SCA file under the option - Java Support Package Manager, i patched the other SCA files with the option - Single Support Packages (advanced user only). It went successfully. I hope i answered your questions.

Now, as said to Sunny, when i see under

http://<server>:5<instance no>00 - System Information - all Components - JSPM is 7.02 SP12

Did it upgrade the JSPM too? very strange.

I believe not required.... Your JSPM is already patched.

If it is patch level 12 here, then your JSPM is at level 12 that is the reason JSPM is not detecting JSPM patch.

Thanks

Sunny
