DG Check - Error

Former Member

Hi,

While doing a DG Check in Sales Order, I am getting a Message -  NO DG Master Record found.

The configuration setting I have done is as follows:

1. SPRO -> EH&S -> DGM -> Basic Data & Master Data -> Specify Mode of Transport Categories

     I have created a MTrCat. - 98, with Base MOT - 7

2. SPRO -> EH&S -> DGM -> Basic Data & Master Data -> Specify Collective Mode of Transport Categories

    I have created...

    Collective MOT      MTrCat.

          98                         1

          98                         2

          98                         3

Regulation in question is for CFR,

DG Master - CFR with MTrCat. 98

In the Sales Order, the determined route has a shipping type 01,

I hope this is why the DG check is failing because of the mode of transport category being different.

can anyone help me in solving this issue.

Regards,

Sanjay

Hi Sanjay,

The config. you mentioned is perfect. the issue is not related to this.

This could be problem with either DG master (or) shipping route which you have selected in your sales order.

DG master -

The material you processed for the sales order, check whether that material have the DG master record for CFR.

In Dangerous goods master (DGP2/ DGP3) check whether the product is released for CFR. In product release tab the check box - "Product Released" for CFR.

Sales order -

Double click on the material, Under shipping tab, check the Route  field.

If possible change to other route. and do the DG checks.

Hi Kamal,

Thanks for the reply.

DG master -

1. The material has the DG master record for CFR.

2. The Product was not released. We are not using the product release. but the processing status is -  10

Sales order - I have changed the route and checked, the same error exists.

Earlier without the product release we were able to do the check and the DG Text was printed in delivery.

May I know the functionality of Product Release. and the logic the system uses to pick the DG Master Record in Sales and delivery.

Sanjay

Hi Sanjay,

If you are considering the packaging, this functionality product release will be verymuch helpful.

you can find the below link about the same -

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/42/c20eecb9ec311ae10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm

earlier you were able to complete, without product release means, the functionality is not considered. you can just ignore this and try for the solution further to close the present issue.

check in the transaction 0VTC, check the route which have the shipping type 1,2, (or) 3.

try to use the shipping route in your sales order, which have the shipping types 1,2, (or) 3 from the

above step. as your configuration explains, only 3 mode of transport categories used for 98.

ensure the both have a sink.

Hi Sanjay,

I just forgot to mention, this error message not only possible from EHS side. we have to take some precautions in sales and distribution also.

check whether routes are clearly defined in the system.(SD side)

Hi Kamal,

Thanks for your input to solve the above error.

I figured out the problem. It was a configuration problem. This is how I was able to fix the error.

In SPRO -> EH&S -> DGM -> Basic Data & Master Data -> Common Settings -> Specify Validity Area.

In this step, earlier I had the below combinations:

VAreaCat     Val.Area     Desc.

Region          CFR           CFR States

Region          US             USA

In the first one US and other states were assigned in the step Assign validity area/Ctry

In the second US was assigned in the step Assign validity area/Ctry

I deleted the second validity area i.e. Region US combination. and was able to solve the issue.

Regards,

Sanjay
