Planned Order to Production order conversion

Hi,

What is process of converting Planned order to Production order for a manufacturing process that has two- level BOM's. The context is to ensure all the child orders are converted & processed before the parent order is converted & executed.

Hi Rajesh,

The system automatically schedules the child items to be manufactured in time to feed the manufacture of the header item - isn't it?

ex. Assuming that the header item has the mfg lead time of 10 days; and the component has a mfg lead time of 5 days

When the requirement for the header item is on Day 'X'

The system would schedule the start date for the Header item as (X-10) days

And the start date for the Component as [(X-10) - 5] days.

So, as long as you have a regular process (I would suggest an automated job using the program PPBICO40) to convert the planned orders which have the start dates in the next couple of days or so,... system takes care of your requirement; that of converting the planned order ahead in time to ensure the component availability for the header item manufacturing, and then followed by header item when we approach the start date.

Dear Rajesh,

As suggested by Milind and Alok you can use MD04(show overview tree), COR8 and also CO41 to convert your child orders i.e SF materials first and then once you finish production of SF and done GR of SF quantity in respective SLoc then you can go for FG material, planned order conversion to production order.

Hi Rajesh,

          Go to MD04 tcode,from there u may get it by individual/collective material & conversion from planned order to production order.

select one planned order & double click on that planned order,system will ask u either partially/full convert.

Hi Rajesh,

Use COR8.U will get all planned orders.Convert to Prod. order those as required.
