Avoiding program time out

Hai,

I need to run a program on huge amount of data. So its taking long. But SAP is terminating it saying program timeout. How can I run the program so long without terminating? Does batch jobs or batch or background jobs help?

Thank you.

    Hi Visu,

    Running the program in the background would definitely help you. Is it terminating as a background job too?

    Hi Visu;

    Another way is to ask your basis person to add 'Max_wprun_time'. Like Bhanu said, Background job would help most of the time.

    Hi Visu,

    Program running in background:- In se38 for the variant ->F9 -> Give the default printer (mostly it is "locl") -> Give your scheduling option.

    Hope it helps.

    Bye
