delta load

Hi all,

Does someone know why I cannot create the 'delta load' IP for updating from the ODS into the cube?

I created the init load and I still don't see the option -delta load to creat the IP next day. What can it be the problem?

Hi John,

May be the Init load was not successful...can you check in the monitor and see its status.

The processing type is 'not in PSA, bt in data targts immediately' for my init load. I am not sure if this is the problem. Thank you.

Hi John,

That should not be the problem. It is pretty normal to see the Delta option on the Update Tab of the InfoPackage, esp. since you have done an Init...

Hi Bhanu,

I still cannot run the delta load.

Here is my steps:

I press' updata ODS data to the data target' to run the 'init load' and then try to press the same buttom to run 'delta load'.

Where can I see the IPs for the init load and delta load ( If I run them successfully)?

note: i tried to use 'export the datasource' but it failed because I couldn't find the datasource 8xxx to generate to be assign to the infosource.

Hi john,

i dont think u have created the export data source. Once u create the export data source, u have to replicate it again to see in the datasource list to assign it to infosource.. It will be better if u use this strategy, for monitoring purpose. Pls refer the other post how to create export datasource. Hope this will solve ur problem

Thank you for replying my question.

In fact, I selected 'generated export datasource'( method 1) but I couldn't find the datasource 8xxxx to assign to the infosource I created for it. I still cannot find the problem. Why?

So, I created one new ODS and one new Cube to try the other way "update ODS data to data target" (method 2). I could run the 'init load' for both methods but I cannot run the 'delta load' next day for method 2.

Am I right that I only can see the init load and delta load by clicking the the cube and select 'manage'. If so , there is only the init load there.

Now I cannot make these two methods work. Without making this work, I cannot run the process chain in the timeline.

Please if anyone know the solution, I will appreciate it for the help.

Hi john.

As i have told u in my previous post, you have to replicate the datasource once u have created. I think ur missing this step. Anyway let me tell u in brief again.

1. Create the export datasource as you have done it in previous steps

2. Goto source system and there will be a myself source system. if its not listed, you might have to create a myself source system.

3. On this myself source system, right click and replicate datasource.

4. Now u will find the generated 8**** datasource for assigning to any infosource.

I think you should give a try once.

Hi Sriram,

1. If I create the export datasource last time, will it cause any problem when I re-do it again?

2. I didn't create export datasource for another ODS, why I can see the datasource when I go to 'maintain export datasource'?

3.When I go to datasource, I don't see 'myself source system'. There are only 4 datasources- BW system, sap demo PC files, PRO, and Dev. If myself source syste is BW system, then I still cannot find it after I replicate the datasource. Do you know what can be the problem?

Hi John, right click on ur Infoarea on ur RSA1-> Source System . later u will find different Source systems . in that select the my self source system (i.e BW to BW) and create it by giving the description.

later Right click on that source system and replicate the data sources.

Hi MM,

My question is that I DON'T see the myself source system when I tried to create. Is it becaouse my BW system not included it?

I followed the advices from SDN.

go to source system(RSA1)-> I didn't see myself source system in the source system list-> I righ click 'create' on the source system-> there is one source system type list (but still not see myself source system).

Hi Jhon,

Try to create a Source system By going to RSA1-> Source system -> create source system.. in that select source system called myself source system i.e from BW to BW.

After creating a Source system right click on that Source system and then select replicate data sources. later u will find ur 8**** data sources in the infosource place.

Also make sure that RSA1--> settings(menu option) -->

Display generated objects--> 'Shoe generated ODSobjects'

check box is selected.
