Companies and Company Codes

Hi, I have a question related to Company and Company Code cocept in CLM 9.0

I create three companies in my Dev system and import six Company Codes from ERP.

When I create a user it is mandatory to link the user with a Company, and in the Security Tab I add all of the Companies in the system.

Then I start Master Agreement creation but I cannot change the field "Company" and also I have no field to enter the ERP Company Code then I think that I have some concept wrong related to this topic.

The business requirement is that a user may create a Contract for any Company Code defined in the system. Is it possible in CLM?

Thank you!

Celeste

Hi

Because I faced the exactly same situation two days ago I can answer...

  1. To be able to create integrated MA type you first need to create Busines systems and Integration confg (see Set up/System set up/Integration )
  2. When you have business systems an additional tab called "Integration" will appear in the MA tye config
  3. ECC Company codes and CLM companies are completely independent concepts. You will be able to use company codes only when you fulfill the Integration tab of an ECC-integrated MA.
  4. CLM companies have to loaded with the workbook or manually created (can not be imported from ECC per the standard)
  5. In user account, companies only specify what context you have access to
  6. In a MA the "company" field only refers to the Parent company of the context and can not be modified (typically this field has to be hidden if you have only one Context)
  7. If you want the user to be able to change the company you have to assign companies to Organizational Units  (Set up/Master Data/Org. units)
  8. Then the user will pick up the right company from the picker of the Org. Units field

Hi ,

What type of Master Agreement you are using ?...If you are using ERP integrated type , then you shall be able to see Company Code in Integration tab and Company code will get populated directly  from Purchasing organization if that has a company code else you can select it independently and create MAs Company code specific.. Hope this solves your requirement.

Thanks

Hi Celeste ,

I am assuming that you are going to integrate Sourcing with ERP , if so you I would recommend you to first go through the Sourcing ERP integration guide which is available in SMP. As suggested by Radis ,you will be not seeing integration specific settings unless u enable a system property specific to it.

Thanks

uday.
