Hi,
We have BI 4.0 installed and I have verified that Auditing is configured.
I want to create a Relational Universe Connect in IDT for this ADS. It is for SQL AnyWhere 12 in Win2008 Server 64 bit.
The client tool is also on Server for now.
I am gettting following error -
"Data Source name not found and no default drivers specified".
I am talking the DSN from the Auditing screen in CMC (ADS Database connect name).
I belive this is the DSN for Auditing. Teh user is dba and the password is given during install.
How can I troubeshoot my connection.
Please advice.
Thank you for help.

CMC/CMS uses 64bit DSN/DB driver to access Sybase DB.
Designer or IDT need 32bit DSN/DB Driver to access data.
So, you need to either configure 32bit DSN pointing to Audit DB if you're using ODBC sybase drivers, or install 32bit sybase drivers in addition to 64bit ones.

Hello,
I think the note 1788794 and the link http://dcx.sybase.com/1201/en/dbprogramming/configuring-driver-client-deploy.html talk about the same thing.
But I cheked that my /bin32 directory does not have dbodbc12.dll and only /bin64 has it.
I am afraid that If I copy this file from /bin64 and put it in /bin32 then it may not be good.
I want to use this command -
regsvr32 dbodbc12.dll to register the 32 SQL AnyWheer driver on Win2008 Server.
Will it work.
Please advice.
Thank you.

Hello,
Can anybody please advise how I can register/install/configure the SQL Anywhere 12 32-bit ODBC driver? This is needed for client tool to work. The current installation has two folders
/BIN32 and /BIN64 in the following E:\SAP BusinessObjects\sqlanywhere folder. The note
1788794 and the link
http://dcx.sybase.com/1201/en/dbprogramming/configuring-driver-client-deploy.html
talk about the same thing.
But the note mentions only /BIN folder and may be old one as I am on BI 4.1 and I have two folders (/BIN32 and /BIN64). The link seems to be good but I do not have a dbodbc12.dll in /BIN32 folder. It only exists in /BIN64 folder.
Can anybody please help me resolve this issue?
I will appreciate your help.
Regards,
SS
I managed to installed the 32 bit driver and I am able to see it using 32 bit file odbcad32.exe.
But I when I create a ODBC connection in IDT, it gives the same error -
"The specified DSN contains an architecture mismatch between the Driver and Application".
And the funny thing is that Data Store does not appear in the drop down in IDT, while creating connection.
I think it is something else.
I do not know what to do from here. I may approach SAP now.
Best regards,
SS
Hello,
Client tools requires 32 bit driver and there is different program in windows to install the 32 bit program and then register it.
I installed the 32 bit and 64 bit SQL Anywhere 12 "Administration tool" as per the link -
This will installed both the versions and everything will be good. You do not have to go through a mess i went through.
The whole issue is related to 32 vs 64.
