Dears,
Our goal is to install from scratch SAP NetWeaver 7.3 BW, EhP1, on IBM Power System i server, IBM i V7R1.
We successfully finished the installation of SAP NetWeaver 7.3, using SAP Software Provisioning Manager 1.0
Next, we used the Solution Manager Maintenance Optimizer to do the necessary calculations for the EhP1 update task, and we did download the relevant content added to the download basket.
During the EhP1 update task - using SAP Software Update Manager (SUM) 1.0 SP06 - we got stuck in step 52 : Extract, at the screen asking for :
...
'Enter at least the mount point containing Export DVD for product NW'
We tried all possible entries (directories), either from the ones used in the installation at the very beginning, or from the ones to which we did copy the DVDs sent to us by SAP, related to EhP1 update, but with no success.
Could someone please explain, what exactly is meant by : '...mount point containing Export DVD for product NW' ?
Also, shouldn't the items resulting from the calculations done by Solution Manager Maintenance Optimizer, be sufficient to do the EhP1 update ?
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

We solved it, we first extracted these archives:
51043228_3 NW 7.31 ABAP Upgrade Export 1 / 4 Info 976563 17.12.2012
51043228_4 NW 7.31 ABAP Upgrade Export 2 / 4 Info 976563 17.12.2012
51043228_5 NW 7.31 ABAP Upgrade Export 3 / 4 Info 976563 17.12.2012
51043228_6 NW 7.31 ABAP Upgrade Export 4 / 4 Info 595118 17.12.2012
Then we extracted these archives in a different folder:
51043228_12 NW 7.31 Language 1 / 4 Info 976563 17.12.2012
51043228_13 NW 7.31 Language 2 / 4 Info 976563 17.12.2012
51043228_14 NW 7.31 Language 3 / 4 Info 976563 17.12.2012
51043228_15 NW 7.31 Language 4 / 4 Info 215210 17.12.2012
After this, the phase ended with no errors. Problem was that SUM got confused with the "combined" language + export DVD.

Dear Lippmann,
Thank you very much for your cooperation.
Could you please clarify in details how did you sub-divide the content of DVD : Material number 51043228 ?
Let me rephrase my question in more details :
The following is the content of DVD : Material number 51043228 :
DATA_UNITS
CDLABEL.ASC
CDLABEL.EBC
COPY_TM.HTM
COPY_TM.TXT
LABEL.ASC
LABEL.EBC
LABELIDX.ASC
MD5FILE.DAT
MID.XML
SHAFILE.DAT
VERSION.ASC
VERSION.EBC
SAP has merged inside the folder : 'DATA_UNITS' the content of the following groupings :
ABAP installation export
ABAP upgrade export
Java
Language
How exactly did you distribute the above mentioned files :
CDLABEL.ASC
CDLABEL.EBC
COPY_TM.HTM
COPY_TM.TXT
LABEL.ASC
LABEL.EBC
LABELIDX.ASC
MD5FILE.DAT
MID.XML
SHAFILE.DAT
VERSION.ASC
VERSION.EBC
among the following groupings / folders :
ABAP installation export
ABAP upgrade export
Java
Language
Looking forward to receiving your reply.
Thanks.

Hi,
I had an similar problem, just right now (Upgrading from ECC5.0 - ECC6.06). He couldn't find the path to the Kernel DVD. Our solution was, to restrict the Name of the Mount-Point: i.e. to omit one Directory name, due the whole path was longer than 50 digits. And I use the newest SUM 1.0SPS6 from 08.03.2013.
So, perhaps this could help? Try it ...
Kind regards,
Benita Alonso

Hello Sunny,
Thank you very much for your reply.
Please consider the following excerpt from the ticket that I've opened with SAP support :
Start :
Dear Mr. Khalifa,
I discussed this issue with my colleagues of next support level again.
I think we have the solution for this issue.
The root cause is that you merged all DVDs in one folder. I'll explain
it to you.
DVD 51043228 has 15 Parts:
>> 51043228_1 NW 7.31 ABAP Installation Export 1 / 2
>> 51043228_2 NW 7.31 ABAP Installation Export 2 / 2
>> 51043228_3 NW 7.31 ABAP Upgrade Export 1 / 4
>> 51043228_4 NW 7.31 ABAP Upgrade Export 2 / 4
>> 51043228_5 NW 7.31 ABAP Upgrade Export 3 / 4
>> 51043228_6 NW 7.31 ABAP Upgrade Export 4 / 4
>> 51043228_7 NW 7.31 Java 1 / 5
>> 51043228_8 NW 7.31 Java 2 / 5
>> 51043228_9 NW 7.31 Java 3 / 5
>> 51043228_10 NW 7.31 Java 4 / 5
>> 51043228_11 NW 7.31 Java 5 / 5
>> 51043228_12 NW 7.31 Language 1 / 4
>> 51043228_13 NW 7.31 Language 2 / 4
>> 51043228_14 NW 7.31 Language 3 / 4
>> 51043228_15 NW 7.31 Language 4 / 4
If you merge them all together in one folder and try to enter this
mount point then it leads to the error which you're actually facing.
There are some files which are specific for each part (e.g. language,
java, upg export) of this upgrade. If you merge them all together then
it leads to some confusion for Software Update Manager (SUM).
So I would ask you to generate different folders for each part and mergethem together as described below:
=> ABAP Installation Export folder
>> 51043228_1 NW 7.31 ABAP Installation Export 1 / 2
>> 51043228_2 NW 7.31 ABAP Installation Export 2 / 2
=> NW 7.31 ABAP Upgrade Export folder
>> 51043228_3 NW 7.31 ABAP Upgrade Export 1 / 4
>> 51043228_4 NW 7.31 ABAP Upgrade Export 2 / 4
>> 51043228_5 NW 7.31 ABAP Upgrade Export 3 / 4
>> 51043228_6 NW 7.31 ABAP Upgrade Export 4 / 4
=> JAVA folder
>> 51043228_7 NW 7.31 Java 1 / 5
>> 51043228_8 NW 7.31 Java 2 / 5
>> 51043228_9 NW 7.31 Java 3 / 5
>> 51043228_10 NW 7.31 Java 4 / 5
>> 51043228_11 NW 7.31 Java 5 / 5
=> Language folder
>> 51043228_12 NW 7.31 Language 1 / 4
>> 51043228_13 NW 7.31 Language 2 / 4
>> 51043228_14 NW 7.31 Language 3 / 4
>> 51043228_15 NW 7.31 Language 4 / 4
Afterwards please proceed as follows:
1.) stop SUM including the SL controller
2.) remove the below files from <upgrade_dir>/sdt/data
.sdt_storage
.sdt_keystore
3.) restart SUM and enter your mountpoints again
End:
I did follow the recommendation, and I entered the following folder :
/dvd/ABAP_Upgrade_Export/EXPORT_NW703_MISCS
( Folder : ABAP_Upgrade_Export maps to the folder : NW 7.31 ABAP Upgrade Export folder in the SAP support's reply.)
The following error appeared in a dialog :
Severe error(s) occured in phase PREP_INPUT/SQLDB_LIST_AVERS_EXT!
Last error code set: tp failed with return code 219, check /usr/sap/MBD/SUM/abap/log/TPSQLSTD.OUT
Trouble Ticket Generation
A trouble ticket and an archive with all relevant log files have been generated.
Trouble ticket: "/usr/sap/MBD/SUM/abap/log/SAPup_troubleticket.log"

Hello Reda,
We had somewhat a similar problem with our install. The problem ended up being with the /dvd/ABAP_Upgrade_export/LABEL.ASC file. Something happens when you extract the DVD's the order in which they are extracted impacts the LABEL.ASC file and if the "right" one isn't found the upgrade complains...
** Note the patch might be slightly different, I have only suggested this location based on your SAP Message.
In our case this issue happened with the Java part. Hopefully this info can help you fix this issue.
Hello,
