Restricting material search in ME51N

Hi Gurus,

We are in a process of blocking the existing material codes and creating a new series. Is it possible to restrict these blocked material codes from getting displayed in ME51N material code display?

Hi,

      yes you can do that.You have to modify standard search help MAT1.You have to put condition i.e.t LVORM <> 'X'. While searching you will not get deleted material list.

via transaction OMSH you can maitain machcodes. (IMG > Logistics general > Material master > tools > ...)

You can add new search-IDs to MAT1.

This new matchcode must contain the field LVORM from the table you search (MARA-LVORM or MARC-LVORM).

Hi Jurgen,

I have added a new search help id to MAT1 and called a function module in search help exit. In this search help I have added a program which calls select option screen from where we can select a material. But after selecting this material, it is not getting displayed in the called search help. How to achieve this?

Sorry I cannot follow what you described.

Does this still have anything to do with not displaying deleted material in the search help?

Hi Jurgen,

We want to display material codes in new search ids to MAT1. We are maintaining new ztables for this.

For Eg: we have 4 search help buttons. If we click on 2nd field it should display a combination with the existing 1st field values and if we click on 3rd field, it should be a combination of 1st and 2nd field values.

eg: group, sub group etc

if we select group all group values should be displayed. If we enter sub group all the sub group entries with the selected group should get displayed.

How we can do this using search help?
