Clock In/ Out Corrections

Former Member

Hello Experts,

I am configuring the Clock In/Out application for the employees. Just to test (as the application is still in DEV), we have created the entries in IT2011. The application is reading and displaying the entries from IT2011. But when I tried to Edit any entry, the popup comes with read only mode and stopping me to enter the new details. Please find the screen shot below for reference:

I have checked the configuration of the CICO and everything looks fine for me. Please check the screen shot of that as well:

Also, can you please help me understand the relation between TEVEN table and IT2011.

Thanks in advance,

Balajii

Hello Balajii,

the entries, which you try to edit, are created directly in backend or in the clock in/out application?

For entries made directly in the backend see the documentation of the marked flag of your screenshot:

  • Time events that have been processed by a time administrator in the Time Events infotype (2011) cannot be changed or deleted in the Web application.

So try to create an entry using the application.

The relation between TEVEN and IT2011: Normally the PA-infotype tables start with the characters PA with the exception of table TEVEN. This is related to IT2011. So the table PA2011 don't exist, instead of that there is table TEVEN.

Hello Frank,

Thanks for your response.

These entries were created in the back end in IT2011. So, entries created in the IT2011, cannot be modified by this application? In that case how can I use Clock-In/Out corrections application?

Our requirement is, we are not using the time sheets. The clock-in/out entries that were captured at the terminal would be loaded to the ECC system (To which IT it has to be loaded exactly? If it's IT2011 we have no use, b'coz our intention is to give overwrite access to the employees so that they can modify and send it for approval.) Please suggest how can we achieve this?

Thanks a lot for your help!

With SAP standard WDA you don't have the possibility to change entries that are done in backend or coming from the terminal. If you like to change/delete a request, you need a request-id in PTCOR. Have a look at the transaction PTCOR to see the functionalities and make some tests. But you won't get a request-id for the time events from terminal or entries that are created in PA30.

The captured data at the terminal is first loaded in the table CC1TEV. The report SAPCDT45 post the time events into table TEVEN (IT2011). Have a look at SAP help for detailed information:

Can the CICO application read the data from CC1TEV? Then the employees can make the necessary changes and upon apporval by line manager, we will update the TEVEN table. Is this possible?

Thanks,

Maybe the application reads the data from CC1TEV. Nevertheless this data can't be changed in standard, because you have no PTCOR request.

Maybe it's possible to create a PTCOR request for those data, that you can change it in the application. I never tried this, it's only an idea how to solve your problem.

Hi Frank,

I am able to create new entries in the IT2011 when I enable the option "" in the back end and run the report RPTCORPOST. Similar when I enable the option "" why this is not allowing me to change/edit the data? If I could edit the data, I could the report RPTCORPOST and post the changes. Am I missing something here?

Thanks,

Balajii

read here, answered many times

Some clock in clocks outs can be edited or deleted

Also check the customisation of your application in table V_PTCOR_WFATTR

read the documentation of this above customisation , and also, in IT2011, there is a origin indicator which explains all this

Specifies whether employees are permitted to delete original clock-in/out postings (time events in the TEVEN table).

Note:

Time events that have been processed by a time administrator in the Time Events infotype (2011) cannot be changed or deleted in the Web application.

Hi Siddhu,

Thanks for your reply. Looks like you took a short break from SCN. Haven't seen you for some time

For testing the CICO application, we have created the entries manually in TEVEN and the ORIGF field value is M for all these records. We have changed M to S for few records to test. Now, I am able to edit these records with ORIGF as S. After manager's approval and upon running the RPTCORPOST manually, I'm still seeing the old CI/CO values itself. Please suggest what am I missing here.

Thanks,

Balajii

Hi Siddhu,

I was checking in the table TEVEN through SE11. And now, I have realized that the records with the entry S are not overwritten, but a new record with entry E is being inserted.

Thanks,
