Need help on rental with consignment scenario

Dear experts,

There is a request to design a process to cover following scenario: Sales contract to manage rental with periodic billing. Use consignment process to manage inventory movement and generate logistic documents.

Initial thought is to use contract for rental. another set of consignment order/delivery for the inventory movements. But the problem is there is no link between consignment orders and the contract. (more complicate: there are replacement of rented items during the rental period)

Is it possible to use consignment item in contract directly and generate DN from contract (skip consignment fill up order)? Or is there any other better solution to manage rental with goods movements?

Dear

For which industry you are working? What are the rented goods or services? You want to use rented contract with goods delivery. Thats ok. But without consignment fill up how can we do consignment issue. This is not logical and I don't think so possible.

You have explained your scenario in very good manner but I would appreciate if you share the industry or goods.

Hi Ali,

We rent machine. We know the normal SD contract + consignment order process for our scenario. I'd like to check whether anyone tried to customize a new item category which can be used on contract for periodic billing, as well as for schedule line generation and be copied to delivery note as consignment (W) item?

Thanks for updating. I will test and update here tommorow but meanwhike you can also test this by copying standard item category and modifying it. Lets see what issue we face in it.

Have you tried to create fill-up order referencing contract ?  If so, what issue you are facing.  Update here.  Needless to mention, you should have maintained copy controls between contract to billing in VTFA and contract to fill-up in VTAA.

We thought about that. And we also want to force system to create a doc flow.

The thing is we have replacement of machine during rental. Then we need to create consignment pick up and consignment fill up again with another machine. It's kind of troublesome. So I'd like to check in the forum whether there are easier ways, especially when multiple time replacement are involved.
