Homogeneous system copy Oracle in MSCS env.

Hello guys,

I plan to refresh my pre-production DB with production DB. Both system are ECC 6.0 / oracle 11G / w2008 SR2 MSCS.

I want to use the R3LOAD procedure (not backup/restore) in order to reorganize the DB.

Do i only need to delete DB at OS level and start the sapinst system copy in HA mode at DB installation step ?

Or is there some operations i need to do before (at Fail safe level, MSCS level, etc...) ?

Any documentation or help is welcome.

Regards,

Laurent

SAP and Oracle database creation procedures did not know anything about Oracle Failsafe Cluster configurations.

Therefore you need to move your failsafe database to a standalone database before deleting the database instance and creating a new one with the standard procedures.

(it may also be necessary to remove the clustered Oracle Failsafe Listener from the Oracle Failsafe Group (using ofsmgr)) before starting the installation process, because SAPInst does not support multiple listener configurations in listener.ora at a time.

kind regards

Peter

Thanks for your reply....

So i need first to remove oracle DB and listerner from cluster group, then do the import and last recreate DB and listener ressource at fail safe level in the same way as an HA installation from scratch ?....

yes, exactly!

And you need to perform the remove operations with the Oracle Failsafe Manager not the Windows Cluster Administrator!
