Creation of Opportunities directly from Campaigns

Hello Experts,

The requirement is the creation of Opportunities directly after Campaign execution. In the Communication method field under the Communication medium of Campaign Execution, we have an option to Generate leads by assigning the transaction type for Leads. However there is no option to generate the opportunity. I have tried to select the Communication method as 'Generate Sales Order' and assigned the Opportunity transaction type to it. The opportunities are getting created but with errors.

Can you please advise on how an opportunity can be created straight away after the campaign execution.

Hi Rohit,

I could create Opportunity after campaign execution. The only errors which the created opportunity had were related to Sales Stage and Description as those are mandatory fields in opportunity (type opsm). You can make those field as non-mandatory in Opportunity.

Could you please let me know what errors the created opportunity had.

Hi Mangesh,

I have used the 'Generate Sales Order' Communication method option under the Campaign Execution node, and then assigned the OPPT transaction type to it. The  Opportunity is getting created successfully; but it does not allow us to make use of the Transaction template option to auto populate the Opportunity group, priority and Origin (Source) in the newly created opportunity. The error mentions that the 'Generate Sales Order' is not suitable for the opportunity. The logic is totally different for opportunity and sales order.

Could you please advise on the steps / settings you have followed to create an Opportunity.

Hi Rohit,

I had used 'Generate Sales Order', but i could not find any opportunity template, hence i didnot use any template. The opportunities got created but did not have sales stage, priority or origin. Guess this will not help you much.

I will try some other means if possible and let you know if i could find a way.
