Prompts in WEBI( Apply to specific Tab of Document)

Hi,

I have a requirement to show two Tabs in single WEBI Document.

I have four prompts for this

           1) Year Period 1 ( Ex Jan 2012 - Mar 2012)

           2) Year Period 2 ( Ex Jan 2013 - Mar 2013)

           3) Front End Unit ( Ex , Auto, Heavy Truck, Mobile)

           4) Geography ( Ex , China, India)

Prompt 3 and 4 should apply to both the Tabs and Prompt 1,2,3 and 4 should apply to only second Tab.

My source to WEBI is Bex Query.

Is it possible to apply Prompt 1 and Prompt 2 to only Second Tab?

We tried to create 2 Input Controls in Tab 2 for Prompt 1 and Prompt 2 which allowed us to use only Tree List.

The issue is when we select Jan 2012 and Mar 2012, data is displayed only for Jan 2012 and Mar 2012. Feb 2012 data is missing.

Is it possible to apply Between operator in Input Control to select Date Range?

Regards,

Srikanth

Hi,

Web Intelligence does give you an option to "merge" the prompts, which is a property on the document level. the merging of the prompts is happening on the technical name.

so you could have the identical name for the first 2 and different technical names for the variables for the other two

Hi,

It is possible to create a BETWEEN condition logically.

Assign Greater than or equal to operator to From month input control. Example: 2012.01

Assign Lesser than or equal to operator to To month input control. Example: 2012.03

Both together forms the Between condition.

Hope it helps!!

Hi Srikanth,

Since the prompts are coming from BW query itself I guess you cannot restrict it based on report tabs.

Either you can make them optional and answer in Webi accordingly.

Or how about getting the entire data and using "Conditional Formatting" (Alerters) to display whatever is the need.

Thanks,

Vivek
