Netweaver 7.3 Support Package issue

Hi Experts,

I've succesfully installed a netweaver 7.3, now i'm upgrading the support packages and the proccess got stucked on the IMPORT_PROPER phase.

When i check the processes the r3trans.exe is alive but with no cpu usage. If i kill the process, it deletes the logs on /usr/sap/trans/tmp then i go to spam and start the process again succesfully until it got stucked again.

If i keep doing this i manage to upgrade the system but it's really annoying and slow.

Any guess on what's going wrong?

it happens on every component (abap, basis,bw, etc)

The server has 96gb Ram and 32 procesors.

Windows 2008 r2 Enterprise on a Oracle 11.

70gb of swap.

The tablespaces have 30% free space, the filesystems are with 50% space available.

regards,

Rafael.

    Hi Rafel,

Before applying patches if you can update database statistics, it helps in performance improvements.

You need to update missing database statistics, oracle dictionary statistics and system statistics.

You may use brtools to perform the same.

Also ensure that you have tune Oracle database parameters as per SAP note 1431798.

You may also use the script attached to SAP note 1171650 to get general recommendations for Oracle 11g parameters.

    Hi Rafel,

Please send the screenshot of error message.

Also check the dependancy of the component being patched.

    What is SPAM version ?

    Send the Log->SPAM/SAINT update.

      Hi Rafel,

After upgrading system have you run SGEN ?

      1. You should run SGEN after upgrade

      2. Update all the statistics (System, Dictionary, Database etc..)

      3. After that start applying the patches.

      It may help you.

    Hello

When the import is running check the logs in the /usr/sap/trans/tmp directory.

Also check whether there are dumps occurring on the system ST22.

    Cheers

    RB
