Hi Sujit,
in Integration Planning (RSPLAN) for an application for insert one KPI for Calyear/Month and CalendarDay,my user select in the variables the Calyear/Month and then the application open the exel with the cell of the KPI is input-ready. I want or that the user don't can select the past Calyear/Month (example: today is 03.2013, i want that the user select only 2013
so that it cannot modify data prior to 2013 already consolidated) or that the user select also the past Calyear/Month but the cell of the KPI must be not input-ready.
Are possible the two solutions ? How can I do ?
Thanks.
Regards.
Charly
Hi Charly,
Sorry for the late response.
Yes it is possible. There is a step by step guide that you can follow to use the concept of DATA SLICES. First read what is data slices.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp2/helpdata/en/43/1c3d3f31b70701e10000000a422035/content.htm
Then go through the below document for steps.
Go through the below document for more concepts in IP.
You can also achieve your requirement using Filters and Variables.

Hi Sujit,
thank you. In the meantime, I had already found how to do with the data slice. Now I'm asking to you is that in the BEx workbook, with the data slice active, however the cells can be modified also if the system then does not save the data. It's possible to lock cells with data slice active or send a message to the user when press the Save button the data will not be saved? How?
Regards.
Charly
Hi Charly,
Message to the users
If you go to global properties of Bex Analyzer and mark the check box "Display Messages Automatically" then a message will be displayed. This message will tell the user "Data slice * protects the characteristic combination". Then they should know that they can't modify all data selected by them. They can only modify cells highlighted in blue.
If you are not happy with the above then you can follow the below method:
Locking the cells
You can lock cells in WAD but not in Bex Analyzer.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/en/14/94fca0a2b848e8864c1b10c3440dda/content.htm
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/en/49/f5dace84bc751de10000000a42189b/frameset.htm
If locking the cells in Web is not enough then I suggest you to try locking cells in a WorkBook:
Steps:
Make the workbook password protected by typing password two times
Next time when a user tries to enter data for grey cell he/she will get an error message. However they will be able to enter data in blue cells and be able to save as well.
Please ask if something is not clear.
Regards,
Sujit.
