Distributed system installation

Hi,

Our requirement is to install Database instance and Central instance installation on the separate host on windows server 2008 datacenter ....I am not aware of the steps how to install "Distributed system Environment"...please provide the step needs to be done......we are planning db2 9.7 fp5 on ECC 6.0.....

Please help me on the same...

Every thing always will be there in Guides then why we will need sdn....if know some steps please mentioned...

Hi Rableen,

As Ravindra mentioned, you should refer to installation guide on SMP.

But on very high level these are the step you perform for a dual stack system installation: (again this all depends on the kind of installation that you want to do, be it distributed , HA, etc)

1. Install SCS instance on the application host (Central instance host) with help of sapinst
2. Mount /sapmnt directory over to the database host '
3. Install database instance on database host again with help of sapinst - half way through this process sapinst will prompt you to install the database (this is the case for Oracle, not sure of DB2). Once database is installed continue and complete the DB instance installation.
4. Next go back to application host (step1) and install CI instance with help of sapinst. This completes the installation.
