SLT replication to SAP BW on HANA (HDB)

Hi

Looking for the latest capabilities on using SLT for Real Time or Near Realtime data acquisition to HANA database (BW on HANA not ERP).

Some slides in PPT document titled

SAP HANA – Data Provisioning for Replication with SAP and Non-SAP Applications 2012

for HANA SPS 5 indicates that

DXC is for use in SAP HANA standalone scenarios (data mart); BW on SAP HANA is a separate topic. (Slide 14)

and

Slide 17 seems to provide some development in this area

SLT for SAP BW: ready for proof-of-concepts and prototyping projects ????? Does it means BW on any DB or BW on HANA ???

I have a use case to start using either current RDA between ECC and BW (supported ERP data sources) or possibly SLT

to a BW infoprovider (DSOs , Infocubes) running on HANA.

If it is not possible today, is it in the pipeline and SLT HANA roadmap

We are running BW on HANA right ow..

Hi Marc,

it means BW on HANA, not BW on an other DB.

What are the possible options for a real-time replication into BW on HANA:

1.)  Consumption of HANA data in BW, with real-time replication into HANA DB:

• SLT replicates into HANA Table
• BW Objects can consume  HANA Views directly

     => This solution is available

2.) Enabling real-time data supply into SAP BW (PSA) via WebService DataSource

• SLT replicates into BW DataSource (PSA) table directly, staging via RDA

     Use case:

• Replication of Non-SAP data or custom tables of e.g. ECC
• Adding delta capabilities where no standard extractor offered
• Reduce admin effort for high frequent master data updates
• Remark: Don’t try to replace complex extractors
  • Inbuilt extractor logic has to be considered, consistency for delta uploads has to be guaranteed *
  • Logic has to be rebuild in BW (transformations / query) or via HANA modeler (SQL Script, Calc. Views)

     => We are planning to release this solution soon

There is one interesting discussion happening in SAP HANA space regarding SLT.

Can we have SAP BW as source and SAP HANA as target using SLT.
