Amount Determination Funtion

Hi

Please explain how amount determination function is useful in risk assessment.

SAP says,With this function you can determine values or measurement results for agents from other SAP components and transfer them to the amounts in risk assessment. In this manner you can, for example, transfer stock movement data for materials from the Inventory Management (MM-IM) component.

I am not able to understand how stock movement data is helpful for risk assessment. it will be great if anyone can explain the doubt with a scenario.

regards

John

    Hi John,

This kind of risk assessment not for all kind of materials. Only done for more hazard classes like explosives, flammable etc.,

Polymers and checmical industries use lot of materials which falls under the above classes. for ex., monomers, fuels etc.,

whenever there is a stock receipt, obviously your risk levels going to be high. Every Business/ organization, they maintain some limit to keep the premises safe. this can be tracked via. system or manually. these limits will be differ, based on plant capacities, Local regulations and licenses.

You have integration available, in Work area (CBIH02) with the building, storage location and functional location, etc.,

If you want to do the analysis base on the stocks, you have to integrate the work area to storage location.

You can create the Agent as HAZ_MAT (or) Substance as REAL_SUB and assign the material to it.

As in the link you mentioned above,

there are couple of function modules which fetches the data to Risk Assessment (CBIH12) in amounts, whenever there is change in the stocks (system stocks), whether it is a Goods issue or Goods Receipt movements.

In Risk assessment (CBIH12), Amounts > By using the MVC variant (Measured value/ Referece value category), you can differentiate the assessment process.

For this entire process run, you must have the correct understanding about the processes and do the correct configurations. for ex - Measured value and reference values, etc., So that user can easily done this process and come out with the correct rating.

    Regards

    kamal
