Two file path for tnsnames.ora, sqlnet.ora & listener.ora.

  Dear Experts,

  Why we have 2 file path for tnsnames.ora, sqlnet.ora & listener.ora. in SUSE LINUX

   /oracle/<SID>/112_64/network/admin

  /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/profile/oracle

  Please advise

No, it is:-

/oracle/<SID>/112_64/network/admin= TSN_ADMIN

Dear Reagan,

  Thanks a ton for this wonderful note. It's solved my lots of confusion.

  Our system is well configured. This note explains setting of environment variables as per system intallation like High availability, standalone etc....

In addition, we need to have files in both the location to be identical to avoid any issues occuring...

Hi Sumit,

This is how configuration files pertaining to ORacle database for SAP is lined up. This is common across all UNIX and Windows OS on which SAP is running.

/oracle/<SID>/112_64/network/admin  => Used by Oracle database

  /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/profile/oracle => Used by SAP application to establish connection to Oracle database.
