Issue while applying ST400 SP18 on SOLMAN7.0

Former Member

Hello SAPGurus,

I am trying to bring the level of ST 400 to 23. Initially it was on SP 15, I was able to bring it till 17. I have uploaded the .CAT and .PAT file for the SP18 which is SAPKITL428 on OSS portal in the SAP system. Now when I try to click on DISPLAY/DEFINE queue and select ST 400 it throws "No valid queue for ST rel. 400".

It is to note that while looking into OCS Package Directory: New Packages window by clicking on DISPLAY button on SPAM screen I am able to see the files

SAPKIPYMO1 PI_BASIS 2006_1_700:patch001

SAPKIPYMO2 PI_BASIS 2006_1_700:patch002

SAPKIPYMO3 PI_BASIS 2006_1_700:patch003

SAPKIPYMO4 PI_BASIS 2006_1_700:patch004

SAPKIPYMO5 PI_BASIS 2006_1_700:patch005

All the above packages are for PI_BASIS 2006_1_700.Please find the screenshot attached I am not able to understand what is wrong with the first patch

SAPKIPYMO1 PI_BASIS 2006_1_700:patch001

Hello Abhishek,

The package SAPKITL428 is applicable for Basis release 701. I think your basis release is 700 so it is not compatible to your system. Screen-capture is given below for your reference.

Mudasir, thanks for the clarifying my doubt. Now my doubt is I need to bring the level of ST400 till 23 so that I could use tcode SOLMAN_SETUP because this tcode is not working presently in my system and this will be required to use MOPZ in my system because I have bring the SOLUTION MANAGER from 7.0 to 7.0 EHP1. Now I was able to bring the level of ST to 17 but the as you know that it requires BASIS to be 701 pls suggest what can be done.

Hello,

Upgrade your kernel to 7.01 and try again.

As you are trying to upgrade to Solman EHP1 it would be advisable to use the EHP Installer. However even if you want to upgrade using SAINT /JSPM then follow the Upgrade guide " Update to SAP Solution Manager 7.0 Enhancement Package 1  Using SAINT / JSPM" . Link is given below.

https://websmp107.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000718044&_OBJECT=01100035870000013352...

Hope it clarifies.

Dear Abhishek,

Please find the details below. ST 400 SP18 == Technical name 'SAPKITL428'

If you check the prerequisite for this package, it needs relese 701. you have release 700.

So Basically have to upgrade your Solution Manager 7.0 system to Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 system.

Upgrading kernel will not help here.

Hope it helps.

Gaurav

Hello

What is your Software Component level.

System --> Status

You need to make sure that you are meeting the prequisite for the ST 400 SP 18 package. It requires some packaes as prerequisite. You need to include those packages and their prerequisite packages

to the queue.

Hello,

Please follow the below steps and send me the queue calculation log if the queue is not consistent.

1. Go to SPAM.

2. Display/Define queue

3. All component

4. Select the package only for the ST component here.( SP18 )

5. Calculate queue.

You will get the message about the queue calculation. Check if the queue is consistent.

if not check the queue calculation log for the missing packages.

Gaurav, thanks for your participation I did as you said but when I tried to click on ST and then clicked on Calculate Queue it throwed the following

Could not calculate a valid Support Package queue

And also the following was displayed thereafter

No consistent Support Package queue could be calculated

   - Change the target Package selection

   - Choose [Calculate Queue].

Please suggest.

Gaurav, also it is to note that there was nothing displayed in Target Package for ST software component.

Gaurav, I tried to upload the support pack for all the software components into the system through SPAM/SAINT but it didn't upload all the files(.ATT and .PAT) present in /EPS/in folder. There must be about 420 files in the folder but it uploaded only about 200 or something in the system.

It is also to note that while trying to calculate the queue it only showed target stack for certain software components and didn't calculated queue for components like SAP BASIS, ABA, ST-PI, ST, ST-A/PI, ST-ICO, ST-SER.

Please suggest what might be missing.

Hello Abhishek,

You should not check the number of files in the ../EPS/in/ . Please check the number of packages

in the ../EPS/in/ directory.

Easy way :  Go to tx. SEPS  (Go to ---> Inbox).

You can check from the SPAM itself if it have uploaded all the files. If not you can try uploading again.

for the calculating queue, please let me know that which tool you are using SPAM or SAINT?

If SPAM then its only user for applying support packages.  So lets say you are on SAP_BASIS 700 then it will only show the packages for the SAP_BASIS 700 and not for any other release when calculationg queue for SAP_BASIS component. Also if you are on SP level 10 and in the you uploaded package 12, 13, 14 (suppose you did not include 11), again no queue.

So I request you to provide complete information. Some screenshots would be excellent.

Make sure when posting, you provide the information about what you are trying to achieve. Which tool is being used and steps taken.

I hope it helps.

Gaurav

Gaurav, thanks for your participation.

1. As I said in my previous post that there are files for software components PI_BASIS,SAP_BW,

SAP_AP, BBPCRM which I could see in when I selected Define queue for all components as

suggested by you. So I applied the support pack for the components mentioned above and those

   were successfull.

2. It is to inform you that I downloaded the target stack which is SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.0

EHP1 SPS30 from OSS portal and segregated the ABAP stack(included all the software

components) and uncarred it and put all of them in eps in folder.

3. Again it is to inform you that not all of them were uploaded into the system only for the one

mentioned above. Why other were not taken in I dont have any clue.

4. I tried SEPS and couldn't understand much.(I can see lot of PAT files which have different status

like C,N,D etc.), please brief me how this can solve the issue.

5. I am using SPAM and it is up to date.

6. My question is how can I update the other software components like SAP BASIS, ABA, ST-PI,      ST, ST-A/PI, ST-ICO, ST-SER so that my system could finally turn out as SOLMAN 7.0 EHP1

   SPS30.

Note:- Please let me know your email id where I can send the screen shots as I am not able to put

it here. Also please tell me if anything is missing which I couldn't provide.

hello Abhishesk,

First thing, what we are trying to achieve here is to upgrade your solman system to Solman 7.01 from the Solman 7.0 . Please correct me if i am wrong.   So we should use the SAINt and JSPM tool.

SAINT for the abap part and JSPM for the java part.

Please check the Note 1169247.

1169247 - Additional info for Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 update.

you mentioned that you are using the SPAM which is wrong. SPAM can be used to apply the SPs of the release which are present in the system.

Hello Gaurav,

Thanks for your participation but I am not upgrading the SAP system I am updating SOLMAN7.0 to SOLMAN7.0 EHP1 through SPAM.

You can't do this with SPAM. You need to use SAINT (for ABAP) and JSPM (for Java).

Gaurav, hope u r doing good. Your note was very helpfull. I have started the EHP1 update through SAINT and presently facing an error in phase SPDD_SPAU_CHECK it says

The Add-on installation terminated during phase SPDD_SPAU_CHECK

There are few more things to worry about.

1. When I continue with the update without taking the above into consideration I stuck up in an error

    which says

Runtime Errors         TIME_OUT

Short text
    Time limit exceeded.

What happened?
The program "SAPLSUNI" has exceeded the maximum permitted runtime without
interruption and has therefore been terminated.

Error analysis
After a specific time, the program is terminated to make the work area
available to other users who may be waiting.
This is to prevent a work area being blocked unnecessarily long by, for
    example:
    - Endless loops (DO, WHILE, ...),
    - Database accesses with a large result set
    - Database accesses without a suitable index (full table scan)

The maximum runtime of a program is limited by the system profile
parameter "rdisp/max_wprun_time". The current setting is 600 seconds. If this
     time limit is
exceeded, the system attempts to cancel any running SQL statement or
signals the ABAP processor to stop the running program. Then the system
waits another 60 seconds maximum. If the program is then still active,
    the work process is restarted.

Please let me know if I can add the parameter rdisp/max_wprun_time in the profiles with an increased value i.e 1200 as I cannot see this parameter in any of the profiles.

Also please let me know if I can restart the system in the middle of doing EHP1 update as I am adding a parameter into the profile.

2. Also when I checked the logs then I found certain transports for components Basis Support Package 04 for 7.01,ABA Support Package 05 for 7.01,ST 400: Patch 0021, CRT for SAPKU50015 and

ABA Support Package 0009 for 7.01 are in error status. Please let me know what should be done with these.

3. When I tried to check the profiles through RZ10 in the other client of the SOLMAN then it throwed me the error

Server qerossm_QCM_00 is not active - action cannot be executed

Message no. PF056

What does this mean.

Hello Abhishek,

Please check the status of the jobs related to the import in the SM37 transaction. In the SM50 transaction you can find the work process processing the request and check the corresponding

dev_w* log. You will find more details about the issue (TIME_OUT error).

Happy Holi in advance !!

Gaurav

Gaurav, a Happy Holi to u. I increased the value of the parameter to 9600 going into RZ11 and then continued again and it worked. Still the update is going on. It's taking a lot of time.

Hello Gaurav,

Hope you are doing well. I have reached phase IMPORT_PROPER in EHP1 installation but I am facing the following error here

The Add-on installation terminated during phase IMPORT_PROPER

Runtime Error - Description of Exception

Runtime Errors LOAD_PROGRAM_CLASS_MISMATCH

Short Text

Class interface was changed at runtime.

What Happened?

Error in the ABAP application program

The current ABAP program "SAPLSABC" has to be terminated because it has come accross a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.

Note:- 1.It is note that there I can SAP EHP1 FOR SOLMAN7.0 in the status section, but not all components are increased like BASIS is increased to 701 but not ABA.

           2. Also when continue again in saint then it says release has been changed for the system and you need to restart the system.

Please suggest.

Gaurav, I hope that you had a great holiday. I am starting with installing the EHP1 for the Java stack using JSPM.

I have put the Java related SCA files into /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in removing the older files related to the ABAP stack.

I took these SCA files from the SAP SOLUTION 7.0 SUPPORT PACK STACK DOWNLOAD and segregated the java files and put them straightaway into the EPS/in folder.

Unfortunately JSPM is not able to pick up these files. I dont understand why is this happening.By default it's only showing files for BC-FES-IGS.

Please suggest.

Place stack.xml file in EPS/in directory.

What option you use in JSPM to install java packages?

I use Support Package Stack. And when I select New Software Component then it does select one of the file called SWLIFECYCLE. But none are displayed when selecting SPS. Please suggest.

Note:- I dont understand why every post of mine is getting moderated. This is delaying my response.

Dear Abhishek,

Please check if you are meeting the Import Condition for the package.

To check the import condition :

go to http://service.sap.com/swdc

    > Search for Software Downloads

      > Search for the package. For Eg. SAPK-60018INFINBASIS

        > Click on the 'View Content Info' (second flipped page icon)

Here you can check the import conditions for each package.

hope it helps.
