RFC_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: Connect to SAP gateway failed Connect

Hi,

Last week, we had connection problems between Portal and ECC (below). The error was only corrected when doing stop / start the Portal and ECC, but could not identify what caused the error.

I checked the services and hosts files, but I have not found any problems.

error :

com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception:
(102) RFC_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: Connect to SAP gateway failed Connect_PM TYPE=B
MSHOST=erptb706p GROUP=SPACE R3NAME=PRD MSSERV=sapmsPRD PCS=1 LOCATION CPIC

interface) VERSION 38 RC -10 MODULE nixxi.cpp LINE 2835 DETAIL NiPConnect2

COUNTER 3

Obs: The above error indicates that looking at Localhost even hosts and services being ok. Interestingly, only after stop / start working again without any adjustment

       I have information that there were problems link the day before, but was not made any changes.

Any idea what might have occurred ?

Do you have any idea why the dispatcher would be trying to connect the gateway on the localhost meaning 127.0.0.1? I'm assuming the ABAP gateway is not running on the same host as the portal, or is it? Have you ruled out network problems? See if SAP note 1165633 is relevant for you.
