Dear Experts,
If I already have all data in an ODS and I schedule an upload of a part of already existing data (to the same ODS from PSA), does the system accept it? I see that its loading but not getting activated. Is that becuase of data duplication?
Thank you.
Hi Venkat,
There r two things.
1. Loading into cube. In this case, you can load a record n number of times, but it will lead you to inconsistant data.
2. Loading an ODS. Here once again there are two option in update rule.
a. Overwrite - depending on the key fields, the system
overwrites the old record with the new record. But
there wont be any inconsistancy in data.
b. Addition - here the system adds the key figures if
already the record exist which will lead you to
inconsistancies.
Hope i made it clear.

Hi Visu,
If u upload the data form the source system then it will allow u. Suppose if u r uploading the data from one data target to the other data target again then it will just upload 0 records for that.

Hi,
If the data is Masterdata then it definitely overwrite ur previous data and there wont be any problem in activating also. but if u are uploading any transactional data(delta) then u will get the duplicate data in ur ODS and the values will definitely change in the ODS.
I wud like to know whats the error msg that u r getting..?

MM
