Reconciliation in CO

Has anyone worked on reconciliation from CO OM ? I have a Reconciliation How To paper that I'm going through but I'm not sure If I'll be able to follow it properly since I'm working on 3.0B and I dont think this version comes with standard reconciliation datasources.

Any help would be greatly appreciately.

Thanks

Fran

    Hi Fran,

From what I have been able to make of this white paper, is that these new recon datasources will be available with the next release of BC. However we can currently configure it ourselves as well. Its all about creating a generic datasource of the std BC extractors (which use a func module) on a much lesser granular level, extracting it to BW and running a comparison with a msg alert.

Just a proactive way to detect if there are any errors in the extraction. Be a step ahead of the end users.

All in all, we will need to implement it on our own as the BC datasources will take time in getting delivered.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Zubin

    Hi Fran,

Probably you were talking about “How To…Reconcile Data Between SAP Source Systems and SAP NetWeaver BI”? It has a lot of information that definitely may be applied to your system. Some examples even refer to CO_OM.

But if you have some doubts then you can visit a link on a service market place, shown in the Howto: http://service.sap.com/bi -> Data Consistency. You can find there several interesting documents. Especially I like “Data validation and Error handling”.

These docs talk about tech aspects of data validation and reconciliation, though.

If you want just to compare figures in BW and R/3 I’d use some predefined reports in R/3 and compare figures in them with those in BW queries.

If there is no (or little) predefined reports, SAP Query (tcode SQ01) might be useful for a quick creation of some reports in R/3.

    Best regards,

    Eugene
