TREX Indexing ...... not working

Former Member

Hi all,

We have installed the portal(EP6-Sp9) on HP-UX machine and TREX6.1 on windows.

To search documents stored in Km we followed the below mentioned steps:

1)Created index using index administration iview.

2)Acivated it.

But when we navigated to crawler monitor, it didnt show us current crawling processes.

Also in display queues for corresponding index id, status shows green mark and queue status as "idle", but all other parameters as 0(zero). None of the documents were processed.

crawler srevice and search service starts automatically.....so are we missing any step????

Thanks in advance.

With regards.

Amol.

Hi!

Please have a look into the defaultTrace files. If you see something like

Error 11/29/05 6:30:03 PM XCrawlerService Failed to create crawler task SubscriptionCrawler - com.sapportals.wcm.service.xcrawler.XCrawlerException: The SQL statement "SELECT "XCRW_TASK_INDEX" FROM "KMC_XCRW_TASKS" WHERE "XCRW_TASK_ID" = ?" contains the semantics error[s]: type check error: the e ...

then the installation of SP9 Patch 3 should solve the problem.

bye, Dirk

Hi,

Thanks for prompt reply.....

Evenif when i reindex status still shows as "idle".

Also i am not able to see the tasks in crawler monitor iview.

Actually i am unable to see the view, sort by otions with drop downs in crawler monitor iview, instead i can see only refresh button.

I suppose crawler has not started.( But crawler service starts automatically).

Thanks in advance.

hi amol,

you can verify your crwaler (even without the options) if you go to

Indexing Monitor -> <Your Crawler>

then their should be open a new window with the crawler and trex-monitor for the choosed index

Hi,

I have attached the datasources to index.

As i said in display queues for corresponding index id, status shows green mark and queue status as "idle", but all other parameters as 0(ZERO).

Thanks in advance.

With regards.

if you 'Reindex' your index in the indexing monitor - can you see a status-change?

hello amol,

some suggestions:

- you forgot to add a data source (at least, this was my big mistake...)

- do you see in trex monitor -> display queues anything != 0

- try to activate and flush the index in trex monitor -> change queue status

hope this helps,

renke
