Unsupported datatype in data services crashes DS

bods3.pngbods1.pngbods2.pngWe have requirement where we need to extract data from system which resides on a Oracle database and one of the table in has 2 columns which has custom datatype.

We are using SAP BODS to load data into HANA and have followed the below steps

1. Created the datastore for Source system.
2. Selected the option for “Importing Unsupported datatypes” , only with this option we are able to see the field which has custom datatype

3. We were successful in bringing the metadata of table.

4. When we try to do a data preview on this table to see the data, it crashes the DS client.
5. We also tried to create job with dataflow with simple query transformation 1:1 mapping and target template table was HANA, but when we ran the job it throws error.

The data in table in below format. Please see attached file.

Why do you want to use Custom Datatype?

Instead of using a custom datatype column can you convert the datatype to varchar() in data services and check if its working.

    Arun,

I did check "Import unsupported datatype" option and brought in the columns as Varchar into DS , but after I did that I can see the metadata of the table but when I do the data preview it crashes the DS client.

Any update - Were you able to resolve this and are you able to ignore data preview and try execution?
